TOURIST VISA FOR AFGHANISTAN
Requirements: All foreigners visiting Afghanistan need a valid visa to enter the country.
Application Method: You must visit the Embassy/Consulate in person. There is an online application form you can complete and you must keep the tracking number when you submit this: http://econsulate.mfa.gov.af/
Validity and Stay: The visa will be valid for 3 months from the date it is applied to your passport and it allows for a 30-day stay in Afghanistan within that period.
Extension: It is possible to extend your stay by visiting the relevant authorities in Afghanistan.
Required Documents: 1. A valid passport with at least six months validity and two or more blank pages. 2. Visa application form and two passport size photos with a white background. 3. An Invitation Letter from a local registered travel company in Afghanistan.
Cost (General): The cost is typically 80 USD for normal processing and 130 USD for express processing, though the exact fee depends on your nationality and the rules of the specific Afghan Embassy or Consulate.
Payment: Most embassies will accept payment by card or in local currency (cash).
Processing Time: Express option: you may be able to get your visa in a few hours (same day service). Normal Option: This process can take up to several days. Please check the opening hours of the embassy you are visiting and arrive as early as possible. Most embassies are closed on weekends. Please check if the embassy/consulate is closed for a religious holiday or festival.

Visa on Arrival: Tajikistan Border only: There is a visa on arrival option at the Shir Khan Bander border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The visa from the Embassy in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) is not valid.
E-Visa: no E-visa is available.
Useful Information:
General Consulate of Afghanistan in Dubai, UAE: You can fill out the visa application form online. Once submitted you must keep the tracking number for your application. Alternatively, you can have the form filled out for you at the kiosk opposite the visa processing area for a small fee (around 55 AED in cash). You then present this application with your Letter of Invitation at the visa processing desk. You can pay by card or in local currency in cash. Note: We have a contact in Dubai who can organise to get your visa for you the same day. An extra charge applies. Dubai offers daily flights to Kabul.
Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad Pakistan: this location offers daily fights to Kabul. General Consulate of Afghanistan in Peshawar in Pakistan: from Peshawar you can cross into Afghanistan via the Torkham Gate land border.
General Consulate of Afghanistan in Termez in Uzbekistan: from Termez you can then cross via the Hairatan land border into Afghanistan.
General Consulate of Afghanistan in Mashhad in Iran: this is for travellers entering Afghanistan from Iran via the Dogaron land border.
