Overview
Welcome to a Nature Lovers Paradise
This is not a place about politics, history, or archaeology like so many places in Afghanistan.
Nuristan is a little piece of heaven.
The three great rivers, the Alingar, Pech, and Landai Sin, several small rivers, and the green valleys on the southern slope of the Hindu Kush Mountains, which are covered with cypress, Jalghuzo, and Neja pine trees, make this area a nature lovers paradise. To tempt you even more, there are so many different animals to see such as monkeys, green and black bears, snow leopards, the common leopard, forest skunks, and the snake-eating deer and ibex deer. For bird lovers, there are literally hundreds of different species of birds in this area.
The best time to visit is in summer or spring, although it is well worth a visit in autumn – the season of a thousand colors. Hearing the pleasant sound of the water mingled with the singing of wild birds in the refreshing cool air will bring an unforgettable experience to those seeking peace and a little slice of heaven.
